Arkady Broder, MD

Dr. Arkady Broder is the Chief of Gastroenterology at Saint Peter’s University Hospital, Rutgers School of Medicine in New Brunswick. He also serves as the director of the Fellowship training program. The division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Saint Peters University Hospital brings the highest quality in gastrointestinal care with a focus on utilization of cutting-edge therapeutics. Above all, the division brings humanity to their patients during their greatest time of need. 

Born in the former Soviet Union, Arkady and his family emigrated to the United States in 1991 as political refugees. Settling in the Bronx, he and his family were driven to fulfill the American Dream. From an early age and throughout his school years, Dr. Broder consistently channeled his efforts to further his interest in medical sciences.

Dr Broder’s passion for oncology stemmed from his personal journey as a lymphoma survivor. This experience shaped the way he views cancer care and has given him the ability to approach his patients with genuine empathy. 

Dr. Arkady Broder is a graduate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He completed his medical education, including a chief medical year and gastroenterology specialty training with a focus on therapeutic endoscopy and gastrointestinal oncology at the Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, NY. 

Dr Arkady Broder is a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Serving on several educational committees for both societies, Dr Broder continues to enhance his love of academic medicine and medical training. His involvement in training young physicians has led to dozens of peer reviewed publications, presentations at national meetings and book chapters. 

Dr. Broder loves spending time with his incredible and devoted family. His wife Marni has been at his side through all his trials and successes. His wonderful children Ahuva, Emma, Koby and Eitan bring him a tremendous sense of pride and accomplishment. The Broder family is blessed to be surrounded with aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, many of whom live in their local community. While not at the hospital, Arkady can be found cooking up a storm in the kitchen or outside on the grill. He enjoys keeping fit by running or lifting and loves spending quality time with his family, friends and community.
